Quesfire - Hip Hops first Flashdrive album (On To The Next One)

A Lazy K Production: Agallah The Don Bishop "Son Of Sosa" Mixtape Album

Propain Campaign | Agallah

Quesfire

Contrary to popular belief, hip hop is not dead. As Ques' newest hit "RE UP" proclaims, "They Compare me to Michael Phelps doing the backstroke Winning." With the roots of underground hip hop music suffocating under mainstream conquests it's refreshing to find out an artist like Ques found a hole for air. This Bronx native delivers his music with the same lyrical capabilities of any of hip hop's founding fathers, the humor of a class clown, and the knowledge of a street Socrates.  His mix of creative talent and wit is reminiscent of a lost time in hip hop music when it was about the conscious message, as much as it was about having fun. Yet, according to Ques, his music is just a mirror into his world. What a view.
Ques' revolutionary roots stem back to his childhood. After the murder of his father, a political dissident, Ques knew it was no longer a dream, but a responsibility to pursue his ultimate love, music. Growing up in the Bronx, New York during the emergence of hip hop was exactly the fuel needed for this young artists' fire. Ques became a local hit, performing throughout the tri-state area in venues such as Pyramid, Bowery Poetry, Santos, and Nuyorican Poet's Café. Soon, he was opening shows for major acts like Faboulos, Jadakiss, and Loyd Banks.
Ques' style is versatile. Outside of the fact that his bilingual background allows him to rap in English and French, his music has made it into television, radio, and Broadway theatre. You can hear his work on the movie soundtrack for Grandslammed 2010, Reebok commercials, and more recently he has been nominated "Best performance" and "Artist to watch" at the 8th annual underground music awards.

Quesfire, who has already conquered the number one spot on nearly every internet music site including Ourstage.com, Reverb Nation, garageband, and SoundClick, has released his much anticipated album. RAP2k10,  which was released as a flash drive album as well as MP3 format.

Dante Hawkins

From his early childhood, Dante was surrounded by the energy, passion and love of music that his grandmother Louise Hawkins proudly infused in his creative development. He released his soulful unique voice by singing in the church. Dante was requested to sing at music festivals and became very well known in the Rochester city and the New York Tri-State area.
Through singing in church, Dante met multi-platinum artist Devante “Swing” of Jodeci who introduced him to the game of R&B and took him under his wing. Devante added Dante to his group called the “Basement Crew” which included multi-platinum artist Missy Elliot, Multi-platinum producer Timberland, Multi-platinum Steven “Static” Major. And that's where Real R&B began.
Dante worked with Gerald Levert as he launched his record label “Global Soul Records”. From there Dante went to Seattle Washington to work with Jimmy Hendrix Family record label called “Hendrix Records”. After returning to New York, Dante completed his first underground R&B album titled “Real R&B” and did many shows opening for acts such as Dru Hill, Erykah Badu, Tyrese, legendary recording artist The Temptations, The OJ's, and Frankie Beverly & Maze. At this time, Dante had started an underground roar. His name and unique voice had grabbed the attention of many people, artists as well as many major record labels.
Working with various artists such as hip hop legend Heavy D, Jay Z, Akon, John Legend, Melissa Morgan, Tyrese, Missy Elliot, Mario Winans, Dr. Dre, Jadakiss, Juelz Santana, as well as many others, Dante has proved his talent in the music industry.
Currently he is working with, the legendary DJ Lazy K on a new R&B project. Dante's song with Jay Z and Lil Wayne called Pimp “Stroll” debuted on DJ Green Lanterns “Serious Radio” Mixtape. His collaboration with new Def Jam recording artist Uncle Murda called “Stop Snitching” has really grabbed the attention of the streets and many other Mixtape DJ's.

Twinn & Fatt Kidd (FilnoBEP)

Twinn & Fatt Kidd, twin brothers born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1989 were always known for being creative. Back before their fame they were known for being producers of a local New Orleans rap group and middle school friends with Lil Dee God’s gift at the age of 15. After a run in with the law, poverty and the damage done by Hurricane Katrina, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia and found a new way to gain exposure - the internet.

They began making beats while still in high school, managing to make a few album placements. At the same time, they were creating music from their home. Managing to grab the attention of a few big publications, they got to perform one of their songs live on TV. But still they couldn’t find any rapper or record label to pay them any attention, so they decided to take their attention. They began creating online cartoon videos poking fun of popular rappers like Lil Wayne, Cam’ron, Young Jeezy, The Clipse and known Marrero rapper, Baby Boy Da Prince , that lead to a split from them and their group back in New Orleans. Leaving them time to work on themselves, they used their cartoons to promote their producing and music, gaining them over 100 millions hits on their YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/filnobep, major magazine and online write ups before they turned 18 years old.

Mike Dash E

Kicking and screaming as he met his mother’s voice for the first time, Mike Enriquez (dubbed Mike-Dash-E to the industry) was born with an undeniable fight. His music cranking out of the Smallzville hit camp illustrates his fight to prove that sixteenth day of September 1982 would not be written without purpose. In order to give her children better opportunities, Mike’s mother left the drug and poverty-infested streets of Cavite Rosario, Philippines for the land of big dreams in the U.S. With the blood of such a strong self-empowered woman running through his veins, there’s no doubt Mike-Dash-E has what it takes to redefine the music game.
Hip-Hop’s years of knowledge shed light on a young B-Boy in his early stages. Perfecting his freezes and flares with Tribal Force and Pete Rock to free-stylin’ over eight tracks after the school bell – young Dash was laying down his Hip-Hop foundation in all forms. He was an avid fan of timeless music, spreading his musical tastes across the charts. Marvin Gaye and Luther helped with the sweet talk. Nas, ‘Pac and Biggie amped up hooptime and Bob Marley made those first spark up sessions what they should be. He took his musical influences into the rap game, shaping that unique swag audiences have and will come to love.
Step one of the takeover came in 2005. Dash linked up with Unorthaknoxx Producers Rommel Fernando and Louie Nubla and formed the group Duece One. He learned the basics of rap survival and branched out to work with the Smallzville Ent. camp in the summer of 2007. With hot, young artists under the belt like Tas, Yun Doe, Rich Lawson, Beazy McFly, Chedda Mackin’, Rube, and Circus TK, Smallzville added the missing pieces to the Dash music puzzle. He was handed blazin’ beats and working with some of the best producers in the Bay (Traxx, Young L, Bolo, Jay Ant of the Diligentz, and P. Lo of the Go Gettaz to drop a few). His first single “Bounce” featuring Rube set off a trail of hitters such as “Off Top”, “Don’t Turn Your Back”, and “Hate Me Now”. The latest crowd pleaser “Hold You Down” (featuring My Deverteuil, written by Mike-Dash-E, and produced by Traxx) hit MySpace soundwaves and has generated over 14,000 listens-to-date. The smooth female accompaniment sets the realest Bonnie and Clyde lyrics on fire. Mike-Dash-E, once a hidden talent, is now unveiled and ready for his pages in history.
Praised by My Deverteuil for his “diligent approach to music”, this Filipino lyricist truly understands the grind behind the music. Traxx recognizes his “playa swag” and the three qualities that will ride him to the top: “delivery, lyrics, and the passion.” They witness first-hand his dedication and hard work in showing the world what he came for. He uses his driving forces to make those late night studio grinds that much easier. His recently released debut video “The Grieving Process” exposes the world to the loss of his fiancé and biggest inspiration, Melissa “Meassa” Vitug. Best friends turned lovers as the story began, he found true beauty in the realest girl he ever met. She battled with cancer for years until God’s plan took her to the clouds on September 3rd, 2007. The lessons learned and Life shared will live on in him until they are reunited again in the skies.
Another major inspiration is his mother and family’s struggle in and out of the Philippines. Abandoned by his father for another woman, Mike-Dash-E watched his mother live paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet. As painful as it was, he learned how to be humble and the importance of being a backbone for his family. He never asked for the latest Jordans or clothes she couldn’t afford; he knew better than that. He played the game smart. Hustlin’ became his motivation and every dollar slangin’ or slaving at the nine to five had its purpose. The bills were paid on time and he sent whatever clothes, shoes, and cash he could to the fam in the P.I. who had none. Always a man of his word and uplifting those in need, Mike-Dash-E is the real deal.
He lets the world prepare for his arrival in saying, “I work hard and am ready for the limelight, just gotta be patient and soak in this industry because it's a shady business. I keep my family close, think about those back home struggling, my baby in the sky, and ride with Smallzville/UX, 'cause that's the family." His mixtape “Neva Be a Victim” and album “Keep it P.I” which is on itunes have already been released as well as his Remix n Exclusives Mixtape,CLAP CITY VOL.1 Hosted by DJ BEZ Mixtape, and The Funeral - Chariz and Mike Dash Album. His new album Dash With Me is being released this September as the anticipation builds. He is one of a kind; a class act with style and substance to rise to the ranks of Hip-Hop’s finest. With his mind-blowing lyrics and relentless determination to hear the crowds chanting his name, prepare yourself for the rap game’s new poster child, Mike-Dash-E.

Style Free

FreshAir Was born in Pomona, California, 1982 and was given the name Traveon Boyd. He wasn't born under the best circumstances and witnessed a lot at a young age. His mother's life was overtook by the crazy '80's and his father was also a vital missing entity in his life. As a growing man, not only did he need his mother, but he needed his father also. The only care taker he had was his Grandmother, Betti. She gave him everything she had and made the best life for him considering his situation. She enabled him to travel all around the country and play basketball, which he adored. FreshAir's first rhyme was at twelve years old and it came very natural to him. Rapping about his emotions and the way he grew up made it easy for him to express, through rhyme, what was going on around him, and he had a lot to talk about.

FreshAir's brother, Shawn Lett (Seven) was born in 1981. Seven's first rhyme was at age eleven. They both grew up playing basketball around the US. They grew up listening to the classics, Wu Tang, Biggie, NWA, NAS, Snoop, Jimmy Hendrix, etc.

They came up with the group name "Style Free" in 2007.

Their mixtape drops in October, called "Style free and Do You".

Mookie Jones

Labeled as one of Houston’s best kept secrets, Mookie Jones, who has been met with critical praise by industry insiders has remained relatively low-key in the public eye, until now. At just 20 years old, the rapper - born Oran Jones II - has become a breath of fresh air in an industry full of copycat Southern up-and-comers.
Creatively following in the footsteps of his father, legendary R&B artist Oran "Juice" Jones, Mookie made the decision at a very young age to pursue a career in hip-hop. However it wasn’t until he stepped into the studio with his godfather and rap legend Big Daddy Kane that he really honed in on his natural knack for wordplay. Seizing every opportunity to show his lyrical skill, Mookie entered his first major rap competition at the age of 15- “Roc tha Mic” sponsored by Roc-A-Fella records. Making himself known and continuing to stand out against other emcees he won the “Source Battle” held by Source Magazine the following year. By the time he was 17, Mookie was crowned the youngest emcee to win “The Prospect”, a national freestyle competition produced by Scion.
After taking a brief hiatus to polish his sound, the young rap phenomenon is back and ready to bring his unmatched style nationwide with his upcoming mixtape debut titled “Tuskegee”. A blend of smooth, upbeat, and raw tracks with an endless range of topics, Tuskegee puts Mookie’s thought-provoking lyrics and production talents on display.
Mookie explains, “This mixtape tells the story of being built to lose but born to win. Tuskegee represents being like everybody, yet unlike anybody. Paying homage to the Tuskegee Airmen, it stands for anybody who has ever been told they couldn’t do something but ends up being the best at it by taking risks and reaching new, unexplored heights.” Mookie specifically points out the track "Blowin Up," as being the anthem for winning in life no matter the circumstance. On his track titled “Forever” he shows his gritty desire for shutting down naysayers and turning dreams into reality.
Carrying such a diverse sound with so much to say, Mookie Jones is destined to shake up the industry and make an undeniable imprint in this new hip hop movement. Other featured tracks include: "Peter Pan" (in which he raps about the dilemma of being caught between two women), "Fill Me Up," and "Pineapple Express."

NYC FLORUS AKA NYC YORK

One of the many artists knocking on the door of new Hip-Hop, meet a multi-talented individual by way of Red Hook, Brooklyn. Hailing from NYC is rapper, singer, songwriter, engineer and videographer NYC (pronounced “Nick”) Florus. Also going by the alias NYC York, he began penning songs back in 1998 at the age of just nine years old. Florus landed his first record deal at the age of 14 at a then flourishing independent label. After patiently waiting his mixtape “Bacc 2 Da Bay6” dropped in 2006, serving as the first collection of music that really displayed NYC’s talents to a mass audience. Looking for a more optimum situation, The Hispanic MC parted ways with the label only months after the release of his mixtape in search of a more ideal route to critical acclaim. After navigating the roads without a label to call home for some time, the Brooklyn native took one of his interests to a professional level and began directing videos in late 2008. It was at this time that he linked up with his now business partner Butta, resulting in the heavily followed thisisbutta.blogspot.com where the pair not only uploaded the video’s which they have worked on, but also chronicle the current happenings in the Hip-Hop world. Their projects can also be viewed on vimeo.com/user1067564. As of the spring of 2010 some of their more notable efforts include directing and/or editing videos for World Star Hip-Hop’s Boogz Boogetz, Atlantic recording artists Maino and Phresy, Bcat’s Redhook411, and Hollywood Records songstress Jeannie Ortega. At only 21 years of age NYC Florus is most definitely looking to expand his catalogue of work even further and stack up on the accolades that await him. Equipped with a multi-faceted skill set the producer, songwriter, director and graphic designer should be kept under close watch as his blip on the radar is approaching at increasing speeds. Be on the look-out for more from this young artist and his camp, all the while staying tuned to thisisbutta.blogspot.com

Carlos Cartel

It’s said that art mirrors life. Deliberate entanglement of perception and reality has always been there in the case of Hip Hop. Naturally, fans have expectations of their MC’s relating to reality. The realness of their music draws them in. However, when it’s to the point where the realness is over stressed, is when it becomes fake and unappealing. That is where Carlos Cartel steps in.
Born Carlos Brown (he's so nice his momma named him twice) in Charles-ton, South Carolina. Ranked the 4th most dangerous city in America those streets formed Carlos Cartel. The second oldest of four children, Carlos Cartel was raised by a single parent mother. Growing up, his mother didn’t want any of her children listening to hip-hop. So it’s no shock that at age 10, Carlos began exhibiting the rebel nature that speaks through all his mu-sic early by defying his mother’s wishes and committing himself to the hip-hop culture. By the age of 11 he was performing songs by other artists like Kriss Kross'. Soon there after, Carlos began to write and perform his own songs. "I use to wait late at night to watch soul train so that I could see the performances and learn how to perform on stage". After his mother mar-ried a man in the navy, the family relocated to Memphis, Tennessee. While living in Memphis, Tennessee, Carlos picked up on a fast style of rapping that was pioneered by Three 6 Mafia, Skinny Pimp, and more. Spending
three years in Memphis inspired Carlos to pursue hip-hop as a business, "I remember they use to come up to my high school selling CDs out the trunk of their car". Later his family would move again, this time to Newport News, Virginia. All the while he continued to write rhymes, ready to take his chance at spotlight the first chance he got. He would get that chance. Walking through a mall on a Saturday evening with an old friend, he ran into founder of Cash Money records and artist Baby. He would later invite Carlos to a show after hearing him rap." I was 16 at the time and went to the club. I told the security I was invited to the club by Baby, and they told me I was too young to get in the club".
After waiting across the street for Baby, Carlos fell asleep and woke up to a missed opportunity on pursuing his dreams. Amazingly, 8 months later a family moved into the same apartment complex where Carlos lived. The family consisted of two boys and a father whom grew up with Cash Money owners Baby and Slim. One of the sons was also into rapping. After Carlos put together a CD with the son, it was presented to Baby and Slim. Soon after, Baby invited them to come to shows and had them rapped for him. "Baby would have me and another dude rap for him and Lil Wayne back stage before they performed. They liked it and told us to keep practicing." That small set-back did nothing to stop Carlos Cartel from moving forward and reaching the goal he set for himself when he was 10 years old. "I was on a Greyhound traveling from city to city, rapping for damn near anybody who would listen.” After winning a few rap battles on a radio station in Jacksonville, doors soon began to close on Carlos. He soon lost his ambitions to rap and headed back to the streets. While on the streets, his lifestyle at the time led Carlos to add Cartel to his name. Finding himself back in his home-town Charleston, South Carolina, Carlos decided to give his life long dream one more shot. He dropped the album "Soulja Stories" and his buzz got heavy in the streets. The rest is street history! To date with no manger, no publicity, no major artist co signing him, and no label behind him, Carlos has been featured in over 35 magazines including Ozone magazines, Hoods Mag, and Geechee One Magazine, appeared in over 10 major DVDS across the nation and has recorded with the likes of Lil Boosie, and more. The Ozone Magazine nominee is only at the beginning of his re-birth. Watch him grow as an artist and represent for all those in the streets with dreams just like him.
